I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
-- William Butler Yeats, from "He wishes for the cloths of heaven"
Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.
-- Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love
True, we love life, not because we are used to living, but because we are used to loving. There is always some madness in love, but there is also always some reason in madness.
-- Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, First Part: On Reading and Writing
i think i have only 3 of the 7, what interest me at the moment though is the idea of having few regrets. because we can control this, the others are more or less chance. but we can control what we do in order to limit regrets. i see regrets mostly as not doing things. and i regret not doing so many things...
sinatra once sang: "regrets i have a few, but then again too few to mention..."
well now i have discovered universal truths about being,
that hapiness is:
1 - to know love
2 - to be loved
3 - to have few regrets in life
4 - to know who your soul mate is, and to be with them forever
5 - to be able to chase after your dreams
6 - being able to laugh
7 - knowing you are dying, and making the most out of life
